Hi,
This TN:

...re:
An Emergency Engineering Binary (EEB) is available for NetBackup 7.7.1 which resolves nbsl communication issues in the Java GUI.
...re:
Symantec Bug ID: ET 3853951
Version: NetBackup_7.7.1
Installation Location: media server
eebinstaller.3853951
...does not specifically state that this EEB is not required on Windows hosts running only NetBackup Java Admin Console.
Does anyone know if this EEB really is specific to Media Servers only?
Or, whether it really is required for Windows hosts which are running NetBackup Java Admin Console v7.7.1?
Thanks.

Hi,
read the TN https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000099899
For NetBackup 7.7.1, please apply the hotfix included in the Attachments on affected media servers.
Only for media server

I think I have the answer...
The Windows part of this EEB only carries an updated "nbsl.exe"...
...and a Windows host running NetBackup Java Admin Console v7.7.1 and/or NetBackup Client v7.7.1... does not have a copy of "nbsl.exe" - therefore this EEB is not required on non media, or non master/media hosts.
