I have a drive that is reporting down on one of my Tape Libraries, but Netbackup doesn't show a tape in it. When I go to the tape library (ADIC I2k) I see that there is a tape loaded in the drive. Is there a way to determine which slot that tape was in originally so that I can manually move the tape back? Currently running NBU 7.01 on Win 2k3. Thanks.

Another way is robtest.
s d
will show the tape's 'home' slot.

Dan,
Just move the tape into any free slot and reinventory the robot. Job done!
It doesn't matter where it was, as long as you reinventory the robot it will know where to pick the tape next time NetBackup requests the tape from your robot.

vmquery -m (mediaid)
output includes this field
robot slot: nnn
trouble with revaroo's suggestion is the slot may be allocated to media that is currently in another drive (not often but it happens)

Hey Rev, will that work even if NBU doesn't see anything in the drive?
WR...thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately it didn't give me a slot location.

Hmm, NetBackup thinks the media is Standalone
I'd just put the tape in the MAP in inject via Inventory > Robot > Empty media access port

Hey WR,
How did you determine that it was standalone? Was it the robot type line?
Nevermind.....I type faster than I read sometimes....
