Java console fails after Windows 2003 sp1

Steve_Miller_4

Last weekend we applied Windows 2003 SP1 to our master server. We have the Java console installed on a workstation in our NOC. Since the update the Java console fails with the following error:

Unable to login: status 507
Socket connection to the NB-java user service has been broken.
Please retry your last operation.
Exception: java.net.socket
Exception: connection reset by peer: JVM_RECV in socket input stream read.

Now here is the strange part. If the operator logs into the server first (local or RDP) then runs the java console from the workstation, the console works. Once they log off of the server the java console stops working. Anyone else see/fix this problem?

Thanks
Steve

Steve,

That has to do with the account your logging in as... try logging in the master when logged in as the administrator account on the Windows 2003 PC. (This issue also only seems to occur on machines that have a domain controller setup.)

If that works - then you should open a support case and cross reference ET429862. The support crew can assist you with resolution to the issue.

Steve,

Now that your Master Server has SP1 on it, you may want to apply the lates Client Patch and JAVA to the the local PC. It's possible that the two computers software version are not Jiving if you know what I mean.
