Job status not getting updated in Activity Monitor

Hi All

we are having a location where the job status is not getting updated in Activity Monitor.Jobs are stuck as writing/mounting even when the Job detailed status exit with 0.

 

Master Server :Netbackup-solaris10       7.5.0.4

Media server : Netbackup-Linux 2.6.18   7.5.0.4

The Media server is in a different domain and communicates with master over the WAN.I heard theres a known issue with NB 7.5.0.5 but we are on

NB 7.5.0.4.

May sound silly, but did you try exiting the GUI and bringing up a new one?

Do you use Opscenter ?

Its been ongoing from serveral days.yes tried exiting the GUI.cleared the activity monitor. The next day I see the backup jobs hung there from previous day.

If this was my enviorment, I would patch up to 7.5.0.5 http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH199269

Apply eeb from http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH203521

If you still have an issue, open a tciket with support.

I did patch up to 7.5.0.5 and applied the eeb yesterday, restarted Netbackup.

I do see the jobs still hung in the activity monitor today.

If you had a windows master server, I'd say try rebooting that..

We have a solaris10 master and Linux 2.6.18 Media server.

We ran into this issue as well on our HP-UX master server. we updated to 7.5.0.5 and applied the EEB and saw no change. We ended up rebooting the server and we no longer see the hung jobs.

NB_7.5.0.5.winnt.x86.exe provides fixes for NetBackup 7.5 on 32-bit Windows server and clients.

Restart NB Service and Check

If upgrade to 7.5.0.5 plus EEB is not work, you can kindly Call symc for help.

I think it should be some ghost job info in the data files.
