Just a Limitation for Backing up files and Folders ?

Hi

We are using the following Environment :

Netbackup Version : Netbackup 7.0.1

Master-Server :   ( Solaris 10.0 ) on SUN-Hardware.

Client : Windows Server 2003 Standard on Intel x86-Hardware

Here we are facing the situation, that some files and or folder could not be saved. The similarities that we could find, is that the files had long file names and a capacity of round about 100mb.

Is there any Limitation for the length of the name for the source ( path and filename ) ?

How can this be solved, in the way, that the files are archived in the future.

Many thanks for your help

SC

netbakup has the file leanth limitains .. i thinnk its 1023 charaters...,

and if it  is for the size 100mb... you may need to check the client read time out... ... this can be verified by the netbackup host properties->client>properites..

if the client is taking more time to read the files , that is specified in the read time outs.. there may be a possiblity of failling.. it... and possibly it will be EC 13

please check the below T/N for reference....

Even I had an issue when there were large number for log files because of which the backup for that mount point failed. I had to get those log files cleared for the backup to complete sucessfully. It had 30000 + logs in one single folder.

you cannot have more that 1.5 million files in any one dir - a rouge process taught me that!

sub dirs are fine - just real files in one dir is the issue.
