Known problems with existing vSphere Client snapshots!

Hi Everyone,

we have a vSphere 5 environment.

Sometimes we make manual snapshots with the vSphere Client for testing.
Some snapshots are 2 or 3 days old.

What happens when we make a backup of a VM with existing snapshot?
Are there any known problems with existing vSphere Client snapshots?

I mean that I have heared, that HP Data Protector has problems with existing snapshots.
What is with NetBackup 7.5?

Thanks for your answers!

More the snapshots worse the Guest VM performance !!!

Have a look at Rasheed's amazing blog series on VMware with NBU

I'm quite unsure about existing snapshot (Manually created) would be handled by any Backup application (i may be wrong)

But During backup if snapshots are somehow not deleted, then yes NBU will take care of it during next backup. (it's stun cycle which requires to be ran, though at the end it's VMWare which does all this)
