I've test w2k8r2 "Master/Media/vm backup host", with nbu7.61 all linux vmdk cann be browsed and by need some file's and directories can be restored.
After upgrading to 7.7.1 I can browse win vmdk but not linux vmdk.
what's running wrong?
What is the linux client OS and version?
Have you installed the SymQuiesce util in the guest?
vsphere 5.5 with HW Version 10, vm os are Oracle Linux 7 and RH Linux7. SymQuiesce is not installed! I think browse of VMDK is independ of quiescing.
the installation of RH Linux 7 is standard.

RHL7(64bit) File-level recovery is supported for virtual machines that use the 32-bit version of the ext4 file system.
Support for the XFS and ext4 (64bit) file systems is planned for a future release
as remark for RHL32bit
NetBackup 7.x no longer includes Linux 32-bit clients.
Consequently , file-level restore directly to the Linux 32-bit virtual machine is not possible.
I canot undertsand! can any one built 32bit ext4 filesystem on an RHL 64bit OS?
