Re: Last 24h_failed_jobs

Most of the errors in the text file is Status 96.

As per @quebek , you need to troubleshoot this.

If you look in Activity Monitor, you will see something like this as explanation of this status code:
unable to allocate new media for backup, storage unit has none available

If you Google the error, you will find lots of info, e.g.:

Re: Last 24h_failed_jobs

Hello

Well, by reading the emails?

I am not sure what you are asking for....

Re: Last 24h_failed_jobs

Hello,

The problem may be that  some vms were downed. The Netbackup couldn't backup them

Re: Last 24h_failed_jobs

Hey

So troubleshoot this! What was the exit code, policy type, policy config, NBU version on master, media, backup host, vm version etc and so on... with such information we can't do much.

Re: Last 24h_failed_jobs

@Tabriz You need to provide more information/details. We can try to help but we do not know about your environment.

For the down'ed/stopped VMs, should NetBackup be backing them up as per your configuration? As @quebek said, more details about backup policy, status code of failed jobs, details for failed job, NetBackup domain details, etc. would help us understand your question better.

Re: Last 24h_failed_jobs

Okay Mr ,

Thanks

Re: Last 24h_failed_jobs

But waht means this message

Available Media : 1 (somtimes the numbe become 2,6,4 and so on)

Alert Policy :Low available media.

Comment:

Severity Warning

this message from opscenter

Re: Last 24h_failed_jobs

The Warning neans that you had only 1 tape available at the time.
If the Available tapes are not in the robot, you should do so.

When a tape is written, there is a Retention period associated with backups on tape.
A tape becomes 'Available' when ALL backups (images) on the tape has expired.

You need to carefully monitor tapes that are being used on a daily basis. You can use the 'Tapes Written' report in the Admin Console on a daily basis to monitor. Or lookup in the Ops Center manual how to automate this report.
You can also use 'Tape Summary Report' (select Verbose option) to see when tapes will expire and become available.

If you are using more tapes for duplication than the tapes that expire, it is time to purchase more tapes.

PS:
Have you had any training? Or at least some sort of handover?

Re: Last 24h_failed_jobs

l hadn't  any tranining

Re: Last 24h_failed_jobs

NetBackup is a complex, Enterprise product.
If you want to be successful, you need to ask your management for training or else train yourself by reading manuals (this is how I learned).

You can find links to manuals for your version in Handy NetBackup Links in my signature.

Start with 'Getting Started Guide', then go onto Admin Guide I.
This will give you a good understanding of how things fit together.

Status Code Guide

Re: Last 24h_failed_jobs

l will learn myself manualy .

Thank you very much for the motivation!
