Please let me know what are the limitations of using Master/Media server on Virtual Machine(and not Physical Machine)
Symantec recommend media server to be physical but in our environment both Master & Media server is acting as same and is on VM.
Prefer to get solutions from people working in similar environment to know issues they are facing.

Have a look..
DOCUMENTATION: Support for NetBackup 7.x in virtual environments (updated February 20, 2013).
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH127089
and this
NetBackup 7.x Operating System Compatibility List
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH76648
This Statement of Support for NetBackup in a Virtual Environment document describes the extent of support for NetBackup within a virtual environment. Ideally, every NetBackup configuration supported in a traditional physical environment would also be supported in any virtual environment without qualification.
Disk storage is supported on virtual media server, not tape (media manager).
but in our environment both Master & Media server is acting as same and is on VM:
In such, problem can appeared when media was mounted in tape drive but OS may not received the mount status and simply not able to pass to NBU.....

For system requirements, see http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO56078
Requirements for virtual will be the same as for physical. Resources (memory/cpu) should be dedicated and not shared.

What limitations do you have in mind ?
Limitations come with scaling. But if you backup a smaller amount of host you may never bump into limitations of a VM. Does the system you run today meet expectations or are "dark skies i the horizon" ?

Thanks every one, I got your point that resources (memory/cpu) should be dedicated and not shared if Netbackup servers are on VM.
Unfortunately in our environment we had Shared resources....we will check further if this can be made dedicated.
