LiveUpdate using NetApp CIFS share

StuLong
Level 3

I am taking another stab at trying to get LiveUpdate to work.

I have my LiveUpdate files stored in a NetApp volume, which is CIFS shared with full permissions.

I am unable to get my workstation to LiveUpdate.  From the logs, it looks like the LiveUpdate process cannot connect to the share:

This is spite of the fact that my workstation can map the share, and access it UNC, without issue.  I've checked on the NetApp, anonymous CIFS users have no restrictions.

Any hints as to where to look?

can you check if you are specifying the path correctly: file:\\fileserver\share

also services in windows that work under local system accounts can't access CIFS resources.

Server specification is correct.

The inability of a local service account to access CIFS is most likely the culprit.  I guess then for Windows clients the only real option for LiveUodate is HTTPS.
