Did you mean:

Lotus Notes with Transaction logging enabled - what happens if you backup a subset.

We  now have to do adhoc full backups of selected mailboxes and regular full backups as well.  Do we need to include the BACKUP_TRANSACTION_LOGS directive in the adhoc backup job?

When it runs it appears backup many transactions and not just the small subset of all the maiboxes.    Example : backing up three mailboxes the BACKUP_TRANSACTION_LOGS job backs up 354 files. Either that means that 354 mails transactions occurred from the three users or its backing up transactions from 354 mail boxes - any ideas?

We have been running regular full backups (on all the mail boxes) with transaction logging enabled with differentials  on non-full backups days.   All is good with these backups.

Hello

My understanding here would be to backup the transaction logs as well for Adhoc backups as the database would be inconsistent if you are recovering from adhoc backups.. So the thing to figure out for you is to stop truncating the transaction logs for adhoc backups and allow to truncate only for your regular full backups
