Does every part of your SharePoint estate havea NetBackup Client installed?

What version of SP is it and what are you NetBackup versions on everything?

The error could mean that the SP is not a supported version or it could be that it cannot resolve all components due to a client not being installed somewhere (or even a DNS type issue where the components cannot be found)

If you are at 7.6 as your signature suggests has this ever worked .. just stopped working .. or stopped since the upgrade?

Check all SP clients for netbackup\logs\bpresolver\ logs too as they may hold a clue

Attempting to run a MS-Sharepoint policy, with two clients.

With two clients? Please explain?

Do you have 2 client names in Clients tab of the policy?
Are these 2 clients part of the same sharepoint farm or 2 independent sharepoint servers?

Please bear in mind that the same Backup Selection will be applied to all clients in the policy.

Please have a look at this TN to see if all requirements/steps are in place:  http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH146218
(Applies to later NBU versions as well).

What you should put in the "client" tab must be one of these:

- Sharepoint Web Server
- Sharepoint Application Server
- Sharepoint Index Server

If the backend SQL server is on another host, then in master server host properties "distributed application restore mapping", you need to have:

- The client above as "application host" & SQL server as "component host".

In the MS-Sharepoint Policy I have the front-end server as a client as screenshot below shows:

clients.jpg

I have added the backend SQL server in the master server host properties "distributed application restore mapping", as below:

mapping.jpg

Error: invalid filelist specification(69) still being received.

Detailed status of the job shows:

We see Windows 2003 32-bit, right?

What is Sharepoint version?

Have you confirmed compatibility?

If all is fine as far as compatibility is concerned - have you checked and confirmed all steps and requirements in the TN in my post above?

*** EDIT ***

NetBackup for Microsoft SQL Server Administrator's Guide   shows that Microsoft SharePoint Resources:\*  can be used, but without GRT.
