MSDP creation failed, but files are in use in the MSDP path.

Hi,

I wanted to try the MSDP feature with a few small VM backups and benchmark performance, etc. When creating the MSDP, it failed with the error

Now I'm not sure how to delete the leftover folders and files created by the MSDP creation wizard. The PDDE-config log file doesn't show any errors beside creating files because they didn't exist before (content pasted below)

the MSDP target is an iSCSI LUN.

I'm trying to follow this howto ( https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000017805 )but I don't see any Disk Pools or Credentials in their respective sessions like nothing was created. Because of that, I don't know what diskpool name to use when running the "nbdevconfig -deletedp" command (I tried running it with the name I think I gave it, but the output was that it was unable to find that DP)

Any suggestions of what I can do?  Any way to Am I safe to run <Install_path>\Program Files\Veritas\pdde\PDDE_deleteConfig.bat ?

The dedupeserver in install_path\Veritas\NetBackup\bin\ost-plugins doesn't exist either

Thanks!

mmmm maybe the MSDP is failing because when running

tpconfig -dsh

I'm only getting the following output

Storage Server Type:        BasicDisk
Storage Server Type:        NearStore

When I should also be seeing
Storage Server Type:        PureDisk

?

Missing license key could be the issue, you must have the PureDisk Option or Data Protection Optimization Option enabled for MSDP operation to work. Check the master server console -> Help -> License.
