MSEO Compression: lzrw3 or lzo1x?

The Media Server Encryption Option (MSEO) for NetBackup supports two* compression algorithms: lzrw3 (Lempel-Ziv read/write level-3) and lzo1x (Lempel-Ziv-Oberhumer, category 1, type x). Which is better?

(* It supports txt85.eng too, but that's only good for pure ASCII text.)

I guess it depends on your definition of "better."  If I read my Google results correctly, I think lzrw3 can compress to a smaller size but at a slightly slower pace, whilst lzo1x is speedier but won't result in as small a compressed file.

(Is that right?  I eagerly await correction.)

Symantec needs to update their MSEO documentation so we have a better understanding on what compression method to choose.
