Hi all,
because of SAN & HW changes, we will need to change how our master/media server connects to our tape library.
Currently media servers´s HBA (master too) are connected to a core switch where the tape library is connected too.
New servers are coming with CNAs instead of HBAs, so new media servers are going to be connected to a secondary level switch (FCOE) which has ISL connections to the current CORE switch (FC). Tape library will be kept connected to CORE switch.
I am wondering if there´s any best practice talking about the maximum number of switch hops from media server to tapes. I remember that I read something about it but I don´t know where (already checked SSO guide, tunning guide, hcl, device config guide).
Thanks in advance.

This is a hardware question not related to Netbackup and I doubt this forum can answer.
I advise you to seek manufactures advice.

Sure, but despite of what the manufacturers say, I would like to know if someone has real experience with a similar architecture.
