Master netbackup loses connectivity with MSDPS

Hello,

We are having a big problem with a Netbackup master server that loses connectivity intermittently with its MSDPS, we get error messages like "cannot connect on socket" on all backup jobs, the only way to resolve this is by rerunning NBU services.

Master and Media servers are on RH6.4 and 7.3 and NBU version is 8.1.1.

We got another site (Master & 2 msdps) that has the same issue.

Can you please help?

Please have a look emm logs on the master server to see if there are any references to failed heartbeats from media servers.

You may also want to log a support call with Veritas - they have tools to troubleshoot network comms.
