Dear all,

I have 2 Media Server which attached to the IBM TS3200 Tape Library through SAN, recently we replace the tape library enclosure with the same tape drive installed.

After replcement, the service "Netbackup Device Manager" on media server start for a while and stop, we have performed below and still cannot get it fix.

1. install updated driver for Tape Library and Drive

2. Remove all drive from Windows OS and Netbackup Console, then reconfigure again to add back the drive.

From the daemon "itid" debug log, it only shown "ermLtid: Shutting down ltid, ToAnswer = no" and no more hints for the problem.

Hey

What are the outcomes from below command:

scan

tpconfig -d

tpautoconf -r

tpautoconf -t

all of above should be available in: \Program Files\Veritas\Volmgr\bin on the drive on which you installed NBU.

Please kind find attached log for both Media Server "mediawc01" & "mediawc03".

Thanks a lot.

Have you checked Windows Event Viewer logs (Application and System) for clues?

Can you activate mediawc03 as the robot control host, too? Just to confirm the Shared Storage Option is well configured.

Tape drive firmware is really old (should be G9P1 at least), by the way.

Only one media server can be robot control host.
