Hi Experts,

I want to install a new media server on CentOS but not sure if it is supported by netbackup or might some features are not supported on CentOS.

Please share your thoughts if some of you test netbackup on CentOs.

Thanks,

dpx

Always consult the Netbackup compatibility matrix, it easy to understand and easy to find (thanks google).

Hi Anders,

Hi,

like Nicolai said reading SCL is mandatory for a production environment and easy to find. For 7.7 youll find it here http://www.veritas.com/docs/000025229

I use CentOS for my own in my testing and playing environment. It works fine as master as media as master/media  and with msdp-pool. Most issues are related to forgotten port in firewalld.

Hi all.

@Nicolai: yes support for CentOS is limted. I used it for testing only.

@dpx99 CentOS is supportet as Netbackup Server and  Client. It is not listed as Operatiing System for msdp. This for both: NBU 7.7 and 8.0.

If you have Netbackup Enterprise with deduplication, why not spend a (in comparsion very) little for RedHat Subscription? With Redhat you are on a safe way.
