Hello all,
Problem: I am testing a new storage server HP StoreOnce but I have a problem to add credentials for one Media server.
Environment: Master server AIX NBU version 7.6.1; Media Server 1 AIX NBU version 7.6.1 (on this media the credentials work fine); Media Server 2 AIX NBU version 7.6.1 (on this I have some problem).
Test and considerations: I follow the installation Guide supplied from HP, I attacched it. The problem is that when I add the Media Server 2 on access list to the OpenStorage I have this issue message:
"Add credentials failed for media server media-server-2: one or more invalid arguments(2060001)"
For "media-server-1" I did not have any problem, but for "media-server-2" it is one week that I try without success, I am desperate :)
Have you some suggestion or idea ??
thank you all
Stefano

"Data Optimization Option" only appears on a license certificate. This used to be call deduplication option previously. Licensed features output has over the years not been updated to list features correctly and is still listing this feature as PureDisk.
So, your licensing is good.
All you need to do now is to ensure that the plug-in is installed correctly followed by NBU restart and then listed in bpstsinfo output.

Is media-server-2 working fine as Media Server?
Have you tried to configure Basic Disk STU as a test to verify that the media server is functioning correctly?
Have you checked and compared license keys installed on the 2 media servers?
Did you restart NBU (or just nbrmms) on media server after installing the plugin?
Is the plugin correctly listed in 'bpstsinfo -pi' output on the media server?

Does media-server-2 have a correctly working network connection to the HP OnceStore device ?

I checked the license but "Data Optimization Option" is not present in both servers, I list the output below:

1 - is the StoreOnce IP pingable from the media server ? if you are accessnig via FQDN - have you added the entry in your hosts file ?
2- create a NFS share on StoreOnce and try to take backup to that via NetBackup BasicDisk
3- Verify if you have the "Catalyst Client Permissions" set as ON on StoreOnce and if so, if this particular Media server has access to the Catalyst store ? If you can afford to set the permission to OFF, do so and try again. If not, supply the correct user/password
4- Hope you have a Catalyst license installed on StoreOnce appliance ?
5 - check if you have the latest NetBackup device mapping files -- the latest version i think should be 1.123
restart the media server or services and let us know if this solves it ?

Is it supported for two (or more) different media servers, even if they're in the same NetBackup domain, to use the same single HP StoreOnce OST target?

Hallo all,
thank you for suggestion, but now the most important problem to solve, I think it is that the Ost Plugin HP is not installed on Media !!
I tryed remove and reinstall Plugin but when run 'bpstsinfo -pi' I do not see it !
And I think that without plugin installed on media each test is useless.
On media server 1 if I run 'bpstsinfo -pi' I can see the plugin correctly listed:
Plugin Name: libstspihpqMT.so
Prefix: hp-StoreOnceCatalyst
Label: HP OST Plugin
Build Version: 10
Build Version Minor: 0
Operating Version: 11
Vendor Version: v3.1_135__30-01-2015

Hello all,
I solved the problem.
My media server AIX don't had the packet .rpm "gcc-4.8.1-1" and so the plugin installation do not finished fine.
I contacted my support and they have installed gcc.rpm, after this I relaunched plugin installation and finally:
Plugin Name: libstspihpqMT.so
Prefix: hp-StoreOnceCatalyst
Label: HP OST Plugin
Build Version: 10
Build Version Minor: 0
Operating Version: 11
Vendor Version: v3.1_135__30-01-2015
At this point I am able to add the media server under Storage Server credential.
thank you all !!
