Migration of DB2 HPUX to Windows

Hi Guys,

Im completely new about this one.

Our client is planning to migrate their DB2 HPUX Servers to Windows 2012.

I just want to ask if we need ''new licenses'' for windows after they migrated those db2 hpux servers to windows. Or there are such thing as converting the db2 license to windows license.

Thanks in advance.

Jess

Your current App & DB license for Unix will still work, but the Windows version is cheaper.

Speak to your reseller when it's time for maintenance renewal.

Hi Jess,

Add on,  If you are migrating the database on cross platform using NBU then you need involve NBU consultant team.

NBU support team do not support on this kind of migration.

Thanks

Hello,

there is no need to contact NBU consultant. It is about third-party client db , not NBU catalog db.

Hi Marianne,

So the license that we used on hpux app & db will work when the OS changed to windows.

Thank you!

The App & Db license goes on the master server and enables all db agent policy types. So, yes. The current license will be good.
