Hi,
I need to migrate my Netbackuo master from Solaris 10 to RHEL 6. Master server is on 7.1.0.4.
Please let me know the steps that needs to be followed and what precautions should be taken?

Have you had a look at the TN that I have posted above?
It explains that you need to make same devices available to new master (zoning, OS access, etc).

This TN will help you:
Using catalog backup and recovery to transfer NetBackup catalogs between UNIX or Linux master servers as part of a hardware refresh
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH77448
So, install new Linux server with same hostname, install NBU to same path as on Solaris server (Solaris default is /opt. Please verify).
Patch NBU to 7.1.0.4, then recover catalog.
I have found it easiest to do catalog backup on source master to NFS share (create a DSU) and also copy DR-file to same folder.
Just mount the NFS to same path on the Linux server and recover catalog.
