If you do not put Persistent Binding in place, you will sooner or later experience the same kind of problems with drives in your new library.....

MISSING PATH is an issue between the HBA and the OS device names, not with the tape library.

Use the GUI/tools for your HBA. Download it from HBA vendor.

QLogic has SanSurfer, Emulex has HBAnyware.

Missing Path is in most cases due to lack of Persistent Binding.
The same HBA tools can be used to do Persistent Binding.

Its been left as we will be Decommissioning the SL8500 Library. We have IBM Library in place.
