What to do if you miss a 2nd tape. It is a Exchange backup (Brick Level) spanned over 2 tapes. If I do a Import Phase II it starts recreating the file listing. In this case because it's a exchange mailbox you actually see (if you enable full logging) the messages. The complete logfile is almost one Gig big so def a lot of data in there. At a certain time it gives an error "Unexpected EOF reading image". The image information is not complete. The next tape is not in our possession. Any ideas how to solve this? Is there a way to get the partial data back?
If your media server is a Windows hosts, you could use a third party tool to mount the tape and restore. Try searching for Aelita now owned by Quest. It actually interfaces with NetBackup. They've also got a demo you can download.
