Hi experts,

in our envirnoment we have 6 LTO 4 drives we are planning to add another 6 LTO 5 drives. but we will still be using LTO 4 cartridges (hcart in netbackup). My question is can I just use a storage unit hcart with 12 drives?

Yes - if you treat the LTO5 drives as LTO4 you can use one storage unit.

If you plan to use LTO5 tapes with LTO5 drives you need to split up into two storage unit due to density difference (LTO5 tapes being mounted LTO4 tape drives).

Think you can as long as you want to use the LTO5 drives as LTO4 drives
