..... just be 100% sure that the slot you're moving it to is indeed empty.

Many a time we have come across instances where 'empty' slots have been utilised where the resident tape is actually loaded in a drive which leads to issues when NB tries to return said tape to its slot.

Robtest can be used, but why not do this as part of the Inventory?

Select Empty media access port prior to update under Update volume configuration.

The robot will then move these tapes to empty slots.

hi Marianne,

i tried, but i got a message error tthat a code bar is not unique, when i investigate, i find 2 volume Pools, because i have LTO4 LT05 and LTO6 tapes, so netbackup creat automaticaly a new volume pool for LTO6 tape, with a robot host control with his full FQDN, for the other volume pool it's tayed normal, and that generat a conflict...

i can't change the robot control host for the newest volume Pool, and i don't know how to do it.

that for i need to move a media with robtest

I cannot see how moving media with robtest will solve your Inventory problem.
