Moving netbackup master/media/clients to another AD domain

Josh_Ed
Not applicable

We are going to move netbackup server and its clients to a new active directory domain. This would mean that if my master server name is Master.domain.com, then this will be changed to master.newdomain.com once it is added to new domain. There is no change in hardware/Operating system. Just the active directory domain is changing and so netbackup server will be added to new active directory domain.

I need to know the necessary steps/process/procedure to complete above task without impacting  the backup and recovery issues.

Hello,

Your master was installed as FQDN. You will not able to move the Master to a new domain easily. Part of that name change will be the domain name. To move it over will require the assistance of a certified consultant from a Symantec Consulting Partner. See TECH31385
