Mulitple paths for SAN attached drives

Dear Expert,

We have connected 4 tape drives to two server via SAN. They are going to be configured in SSO. The OS is Windows 2008 R2. Both servers have multipath IO enabled in Windows Features and device manager sees only 4 drives. Though when I try to configure the devices in NBU device configuration wizard I see dual paths for each drives in each server. I can see the same when I run scan command on each server.

Don't think netbackup support dual paths to tape and robots, didn't when I asked for version 6.5

If you want NetBackup to manage the path selection, you will need to disable the OS related multipathing.  The end result should be 8 logical tape drives, in Devices, and in the scan output.

Notice, the Device paths on port 7 appear in Logical Unit Order, while on port 6, the LUN mapping is seemingly random.  Persistant Binding will allow you to specifiy which devices appear where, which is what you want for NetBackup (given that you're configuring the tape devices by defining which Port, Bus, Target, and LUN the tape drive appears at)

That looks like it thinks there should be a device on each of those LUN's listed, but the device is locked on another path...
