Hi,
Does anybody know if it is possible to connect a tape drive with multiple FC ports to a NetBackup mediaserver?
I want this to create a fully redundant connection through two FC switches.
The tape has two ports.
Thanks in advance!
Martijn

Yes, fully supported as from NBU 6.0.

NetBackup 6.0 became the first release to support multiple paths to tape drives. This was, in part, an enhancement made possible by the new Enterprise Media Manager. The interface was modified as shown to the left so each tape drive could show all tape paths. Each path can be used for a tape drive so that the user has the ability to monitor and control each path in case of a failure.
It is important that you use the Device Config wizard to add multi-pathed tape drives.
Just ensure that both paths are visible at OS level.
