Hi,
I'm planning to update NB version 7.6.0.4 to 7.6.1.2 ... Before that I want to know NB 7.6.1.2 is supports ESX 4.1 or not. Current version is supporting and working fine.

Have you tried the Compatibility Guides?
NBU 7.6 OS SCL: http://www.veritas.com/docs/000040842
Support for NetBackup 7.x in a Virtual Environment: http://www.veritas.com/docs/000006177
As per the 'VMware Compatibility' section of the OS SCL, only 5.0 and higher is supported.
The fact that 4.1 is working seems to be 'pure luck'.

I found 7.6.1.1 was the last one that successfully worked with ESX 4.x in our environments. Later versions seem to have issues cleaning up snapshots and thus backups failed.

The post by Nick Morris is incorrect and should NOT be marked as Solution.

I'd agree my post isn't the solution to the exact question on support from Veritas. My answer was from a functional point of view after testing, even though not officially supported. Though if you came into issues then support would run a mile and not be able to help. It depends on what type of environment and whether you wanted to take those risks.
You just need to make sure the VMWare backup host is at a supported version of Netbackup that's compatible with your version of vCenter server. Also it's the version of vCenter server that the compatibility is against. You can have ESX 4.x hosts managed under a vCenter 5 server.
