- /usr/openv/db/bin/nbdb_ping
- /usr/openv/db/bin/nbdb_start_server to see if it starts.

Conf files to check:
/usr/openv/var/global/server.conf
/usr/openv/var/global/databases.conf
/usr/openv/db/data/vxdbms.conf

Check /usr/openv/db/log/server.log

Jaya,

Your disk may be full of logs.  When /opt is at 100% you can get errors like the ones you've pasted.

Jaya and Zidane (and everybody else),

You need to at least give us your O/S and NetBackup version - help us help you!  ;)

Hi CRZ,

Thanks for your reply..

I have checked the disk status on my backup server and my /opt partition is of 300GB.
the available space in /opt is 245GB.

Still i'm not able to make that NB_dbsrv up... and nbrb and nbemm are also down?
when i tried to make them up it is give a message saying that NetBackup will not run without NB_dbsrv.
Master server OS is Solaris 10 with latest patch and NBU Version is 6.5..

how to proceed further?

Thanks,
Shyam

/usr/openv/db/bin/NB_dbsrv
if you get an output like this,

ld.so.1: dbsrv9: fatal: libdbserv9_r.so: open failed: No such file or
directory

if you see this, then take a copy of existing file and replace this file from Netbackup dump, and try excuting the command again.

i strongly suggest you to log a call with support and get it rectified, they will replace these service files, or recover your database from hot catalog backup.

Hi Jaya,

2 things here:

a) need to fix env variables for the NBDB ( vxdbms_env.sh)
b) transaction log for the nbdb is corrupt, need to recreate that.

This is not what you would be able to do. Log a case with support. Do you have a recent catalog backup ?
