NBPEM (NetBackup Policy Execution Manager) is unable to resolve the client list

Hi,

I get errors logged that state that "unable to resolve hostname XXXXXX, no hostname alias added to PEM manager"

However the host name that it shows in the logs is a decommissined server and is not in the Netbackup domain.

Can someone help in eliminating those errors ..?

Regards,

Milan.

If that doesn't work ...

nbdb_unload ><tmp dir>

grep / search through all .dat files in output to see if name of decommissioned server is found

where did you get this error exactly?

does this client is any of the active policies?

could you attach the below log to this post and let us know the client name too..

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/vxlogview -p 51216 -i 116 -d all >  /tmp/nbpem.txt

Hi Nagallla,

That error is displayed when i run the bperror command to list the errors in past 24 hrs.

the client does not have any active policies.

I had a look at the vxlogview logs for nbpem as suggested and found the references of the decommissioned client in the host_cache dir.

cannot upload the logs due to restrictions. :(

have cleared the host_cache dir -- will wait to see if i do get the error logged again.

Thanks...!!!
