NBU 6.5 on RHEL

Hello All,
Recently I have installed NBU 6.5 on RHEL 4. But after installation whenever I reboot my RHEL server that booting process is very slow.

In the booting details it shows each and every process which is starting, but it takes time when it is starting NetBackup services.

Anybody has faced this issue before??

Dear Mr. Deepak,

As during startup this is going to start all the Netbackup db and services. Can u differentiate how slow is your booting process.

As a observation I will say that if total booting time is 100% then 75% time is taken for starting NBU services.

Does a stop/start of Netbackup take the same amount of time when the system has finished booting ?.

Running LDAP ?, do you search host in LDAP before the LDAP client has initialized.

I am on SUSE 10 SP1 and do not see significant delay.

i played with NB 6.5 on RHEL 4 and had the exact same thing. We ended up putting it on Windows 2003 x64. Took less than 2 hours to configure it on a Windows server compared to all kinds of crazy problems with Linux
