We are observing error 191 when duplicating to tape (copy3).
We have a remote site which backs up to an MSDP pool, which duplicates via a SLP to a PureDisk unit in the HQ, the image on Puredisk is then further duplicated to tape. Backing up the same data further to another Puredisk as copy 3 instead of tape is sucessful
Remote site Backup - (MSDP)
Duplication - HQ Site (PureDisk)
Duplication ---> Tape (StorageUnitGroup)

I have read articles which recommend editting the registry in Windows 2003 as described here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304101/en-us . We are using Windows 2008 where the memory management is completely different so wondered what advice should be done here.
Thanks

It clold be a damages or a missing backup image. I see "cannot read image from disk, Invalid argument" in the text provided.
Are you able to verify the image. GUI -> Catalog -> Verify

Hi Nicolai,
I ran a verify and the copy 2 that is used to duplicate fails to tape verifies
However also if we change the SLP such that the copy 3 is not tape but another Puredisk at another remote site, that completes sucessfully.

That really sound strange. I am somwhat concerned about the healt of copy 2. What if you restore from copy2 - does that work.
How to restore from a different copy of the backup

Thanks again!
I'm going to run a few verification tests starting with copy 1 and also verify the status of what appears to be a good copy 2 and copy 3 when not using tape as a comparision.
I'll update this thread later.

If you can perform restore test from all copy's, you might consider to open a support case regarding the writing to tape.
