NBU 7.1 Full VM system resotore - FlashBackup-Windows policy restore error(2817)

NetBackup Windows 2008 Master and media server 7.1

Attempt to restore Full VM server via FlashBackiup-Windows process using VMDK file.

Restore starts, read tape, read backup image BUT then fail with FlashBackup-Windows policy restore error(2817) error.

Do I need to add somthing to BAR?

I did manage to restore a single file(or 2) from a VM backup - you need to use a recovery server with NBU client software installed onto it - then copy the file over to the final destination. I just used the Media server as the files were very small(becarefull of space usage). It worked.

But the FULL VM system(to original location/overwrite AND to new location/name) fails with mentioned and attached error.

There must be some trick.

What policy type was used for the backup?  VMware or Flashbackup-Windows?

Policy for backup was Flashbackup-Windows.

Is this correct? for file AND full system restores on the VM?

Please remember this is NBU 7.1

As far as I can see there is no VMware option on the policies in NBU7.1.

Correct - VMware policy type is only an option as from NBU 7.5.
