NBU 7.6.0.3 Client Bug or ?? (Drive Doesn't exist anymore but Backup still picking it up)

Friends,

Recently upgraded NBU Master to 7.6.0.3 following the clients and have come across this problem.

Policy A: Backing up ALL_LOCAL_Drives

Client: Has 6 Drives (C:D:E:F:G:H:K:)

Client used to have an another drive P: but that had been removed. Backups been working fine. Upgraded to 7.6.0.3 now whenever the backup runs either full/incremental it sees the P: drive in the parent job log and says exluding P: drive as it either doesn't exist of not accessible? Backup runs and P: drive job fails with 71.

Interestingly if you go to BAR GUI on the client and click select for backup it doesn't show the P: drive there. so why bpbkar picking it up?

I have also tried to exclude the P: drive but no joy still 71..

I have tested the backup by creating new policy and it worked fine but i want to know why it's not working with the old policy (policy corruption maybe?)

any thoughts?

Not sure this will work, but try :

nbpemreq -updatepolicies

What does bpmount say when run from the client ?

Look on the master server under /usr/openv/netbackup/db/images/<client-name> for STREAMS files.
Delete all of them before the next Full backup.

I have seen these STREAMS files causing issues even back in NBU 5.x days.

Thanks Nicolai. Have been troubleshooting (played with exclusions. stop/start the services both client and master, created a new policy and tested backup etc) and also run this command as well.. not sure what have fixed it but its okay now.  Just ran a full and incremental and all looks good. will mark your decision as solution. :) Cheers!

Thanks Marianne.

Intersting, Just had a look and can see the P:\ stream there. However, i have just tested the full and incr and P: didn't get picked up.

will removing the contents of this file cause any issues to the schedules backups, (incrementals due)
