Media server Version : 7.7.x

Hyper-V server 2012.    Client Agent  7.7.x

Our targent is to backup Hyper-V VM  and move backup trafice over SAN. What is the disk zoning requirement from the storage side. I believe the datastores which assigned to Hyper-v server also must be visible to NBU media server inorder to backup via SAN. Please share if there any documents available for Hyper-V.

Hyper-V does not work the same as VMware where datastores can be zoned to media servers for SAN transport.

You have 2 choices:

1. SAN Client :
You will need a Linux or Solaris media server to configure as FT media server and configure Hyper-V server(s) as SAN Client.

2. Hyper-V media server:
Configure Hyper-V server(s) as media server(s).
