NBU VSS snapshot backup – license requirements

Hi all

I’m little bit confused  by license requirement for backing up Exchange 2010 DAG.

I’d like to setup backup of Exchange 2010 DAG using VSS snapshot ( there is lots of information how to setup that including some VIDEO as well).

The question is – If I want to use VSS do I require Enterprise Client license for each server in DAG ( and AD& App pack, but here I’m sure it is required) or standard Client is enough ?

The question coms because – as far as I know – doing snapshot backup require snapshot client which is a part of Ent Client.

From other hand I heard from one of Symantec Presales that using VSS does not require Ent Client license.

The only supported way to backup Exchange 2010 is by using VSS.

You of cause need the Exchange license for Netbackup.
