Sorry to say, Mavericks (aka "Mac OS X 10.9") is not yet certified for the NetBackup client, because when you attempt to install the Mac client, it either fails, or the installation appears to succeed but the installed NetBackup daemons shut down with errors.

My fingers are crossed that the 7.6.0.2 maintenance release will see those bugs addressed and some proliferation to Mavericks!

You forgot to mention your NBU version?

Or Mac OS version?

Supported OS versions are listed in NBU 7 OS SCL: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH76648

The Mac OS client binaries for NBU 7.6.0.1 can be found on FileConnect  in Unix Clients1 download:

NetBackup Unix Clients 1
AIX, FreeBSD, HP paRisc & IA64, Mac, Solaris Sparc & X86
 NetBackup_7.6.0.1_CLIENTS1.tar.gz

You will need the serial # on your license key certificate to access FileConnect.

In addition to what Marianne mentioned, Macintosh OS X clients are UNIX-based clients so you will want to follow the same UNIX client installation procedures found in the "About NetBackup client installation on UNIX" on page 129 of the Symantec NetBackup Installation Guide for UNIX and Linux (DOC5154)

This will be command based as there is no Mac UI for install.

To close the loop on THIS thread, Mavericks is indeed certified beginning with 7.6.0.2.  This was included in the most recent update to the CL I linked above.
