Hi All,
We have some clients with netbackup version 6.5, we are planing to upgrade the same to 7.5. Please suggest how can i proceed, is it possible to upgrade directly to 7.5 or we have to upgrade to other base version.
Master server: windows
All the client which we need to upgrade is window 2003 server.
Thanks in advance.

Hello
Upgrading clients is stright forward task - just click setup.exe and follow the next screens...
I would have patched those later on to 7.5.0.7.
Your master and media servers are already on 7.5.x.x release, right?

Hopefully there is a plan in place to upgrade or replace 2003 clients due to Microsoft dropping support for this OS?
W2003 was extremely problematic as far as VSS snapshots were concerned.
There used to be hotfixes from MS but this will probably no longer be available due to EOSL.
Please see https://sort.veritas.com/nbufutureplans for Veritas end of support.

Yes, our master server is 7.5. only few clients in 6.5. those we need to upgrade.
Due to some dependency, we cannot migrate the server. so as of now we are planning to upgrade to 7.5.

Hi,
You can place the installer on a shared location and access it from the client on which you want to perform the upgrade.
1. browse to the path -- make sure you use PCclient setup
2. Determine if the system is x86 or 64 bit (my comp-rightclick-properties)
3. Run the setup.exe file -- it will promt you to enter master and media server, just add it.
Next -- Next and you are done!
