Hi,

Can you please share your experience or feedbackup about running NBU on Solaris Sparc VS. Solaris x86.

I have always used NBU on Solaris on Sparc.

Is there any key things i should know before switching to x86 (cheaper cost) platform running Solaris?

To my knowledge, for most part All supported features on Sparc are support on x86 except media server De-dup.

Also,

if making a switch to x86, what is your experience running master/media servers on RH Linux?

or keeping the master on Solaris and media servers on RHL.

I appreciate your time and feedback.

Thanks!!

There are some considerations to migrate the server. http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH77448

All features on Solaris Sparc are supported on Linux. We have recently migrated a customer to Linux using TN above. It's FLYING! I say recently - it's been 2 months and the customer is super happy!

FlashBackup is one of features released as Snapshot Client.
By pikachu's suggestion, I've found that Snapshot Client is not supported on Solaris x64.
