NBU 7.5.0.5
just updated my workstation from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 and trying to install the management console (both Java and the regular Windows version) of NBU. halfway thru the installation it would abort saying there is a pending reboot? so i rebooted. still getting the same message.
is there a patch to make it work or i have to upgrade version?

Nope.
Pity you did not check before you upgraded. Java and Admin Console for Win8 are only available for NBU 7.6.

Probably good motivation to upgrade your environment to 7.6?
Or else find another Win 7 desktop...

Caveat: it has to be Win 7 or 8 x64...NBU made the irritating (and illogical) decision to drop Console support for 32 bit...not to say that the Java Console can't easily be convinced to run on Win 7 32 bit...but that's an unsupported discussion so I'll drop it...
