NBU server needs to change ip address

I've planed to change ip address for NBU master and client.

Environment:

NBU master: Win2012

NBU client:  

  1. Sol 11 x 2 units (there is oracle RAC)

  2. windows 2003 x 3 units

What is step before/after change ip address?

1. Shutdown the NetBackup services/processes
2. Update the IP Addresses
3. Update the DNS records
4. Update host entries of the servers you changed
5. Update host entries of any servers that have host entries referring to the servers you changed
6. Run /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpclntcmd -clear_host_cache a few times (INSTALL_PATH\Veritas\NetBackup\bin if its windows)
7. Restart the NetBackup services

1.  bpclntcmd command, Should i run this command on NBU master and NBU client ?

2. Is there any concern about Oracle RAC?

Hi,

1. Run that command on Master, Medias, and Clients.
2. No concern, as long as your name resolution works, there will be no issue. Check hosts files, even if you use DNS. Sometimes there are hosts file entries you don't know or forgot about.
