NDMP Backup Selection

Hello Everyone,

We are backing up a volume

/vol/vol_vm_linux_prd/.snapshot/smvi__SMVI_Production_Bkup_recent through NDMP backup.

Can we change the backup selection to /vol/vol_vm_linux_prd/. Will it backup the same data as of previous backup selection.

Thanks

Hello,

If the backup selection is /vol/vol_vm_linux_prd/  then it will take backup of all sub folders and file under Vol_VM_linux_prd.

I think snapshot will get excluded as this pointer of original data.

Thanks & Regards

Hello,

I don't think this backup selection /vol/vol_vm_linux_prd/. work.

Following are wildcard charcters are mentioned in NDMP guideline.

*  Specifies a string match.

? Specifies a single-character match.

[...] Specifies an alphanumeric pattern match. example:  /fs[1-9] so it will  backup individual folders /fs1, /fs2, /fs3 ..../fs9
