NDMP_MOVER_CLIENT_DISABLE impact

Hi ! Since we are behind a firewall, we needed the NDMP_MOVER_CLIENT_DISABLE option in /usr/openv/netbackup/db/config/ndmp.cfg to get NDMP backups working. But, the doc says that there's a performance loss with this option. Has anybody precise numbers which show a performance loss ? TIA, Ludo

I have never used that before, but I found on Google this workaround has been mentioned in couple Etrack Incidents:

Etrack Incident = ET646985 (not sure when the issue was resolved or not)

Etrack Incident = ET579379 (addressed in NB_DMP_51_6_M)
Etrack Incident = ET521071 (addressed in NB_DMP_60_2_M)
Etrack Incident = ET493951 (addressed in NB_DMP_51_5_M)

From the documents that mentioned this workaround, some said it has little impact to backup but huge performance impact to duplication and import.   Other documents said it has impact to backup of many small files.

I am curious what this parameter really does.  I hope someone from Symantec can explain it.
