Hi,

I am trying to take the backup of a fcp share /vol_fcp_01 of a san filer by using ndmp.
I have successfully taken backup before.

But now I am getting the error

Few considerations....

If you are running incremental backup job for this NDMP host and none of the files are change then status code 99 is normal.

Also this error can come due to invalind host file entries. Check the ndmpagent log file for troubleshooting.

For more information refer to the below mentioned tech note.

The error is on the NDMP-Host - look into the logs of the machine you try to backup

I have faced the same issue today.. and log said NDMP_LOG_ERROR 0 Can't get a free pax thread. Celerra has limit of 4 concurrent backup/restore jobs with NDMP dump/tar format. Use server_pax server_# -stats to identify running jobs.

And as per some docs from internet.

http://www.bakbone.com/docs/NDMP_Backups_with_Celerra.pdf

A Celerra Data Mover supports up to eight attached tape drives per Data Mover. By

default, a Data Mover is configured to accommodate four attached tape drives. To

attach more than four tape drives, you must edit the ntape parameter. However, a

Data Mover supports only four concurrent backups per Data Mover.

To troubleshoot this, We have enabled the Limit Jobs per Policy Setting and set the value to 4.

Will check this and update by tomorrow.

I had this issue, Limiting the Jobs solved it...

check the status of the threads on NDMP Box

server_pax server_2 -stats

This will display the status of your threads.
