NDMP backup is getting failed with stauts 98

Backup was running fine earlier. NDMP host hitachi HNAS.

There are 4 virtual servers in single NAS box, out of which only 1 host is failing. Path is going down for that NDMP host with below error

@sathish_perumal I have moved your post to the NetBackup forum since this is not related to NetBackup Appliances.

The error indicated an issue with device connectivity on the HNAS:

cannot open ndmp device /dev/mt_d2010, error code 16 (NDMP_NO_DEVICE_ERR)

 

You need to troubleshoot as OS-level on the Appliance to verify that the device path exists and can access the tape drive.

 

Hi Thank you for the update.. But same drive path is working fine with other hosts..(other NDMP hosts)

Hi Marianne, Again re-triggered backup is getting failed with same path, though we have other drive with other online drive path /dev/mt_d2010. Please suggest me what are things need to be checked from OS side(netbackup appliance), to find cause for this failure.

This has nothing to do with NetBackup Appliance.

You need to check your Hitachi HNAS appliance documentation to see how to check and confirm device connectivity and list device paths.
