Hello Experts,
Pls help with the below query.
When we stop nbpemreq -suspend_scheduling it stops the schedular and automatic backups dont initiate however, if we can fire manual backup and these run smoothly. Pls suggest if we stop the nbpem deamon is it same? or manual backups wont start?
Thanks,

AFAIK the only to stop manual backups too, is to disable the backup policies.
nb"pem"req (pem = Policy Execution Manager) - so I guess a manual backup falls outside of "policy execution".

You can also stop bprd.
bprdreq -terminate
This will prevent user and manual backups from starting. It will also prevent restores from running.
Or stop the resource broker: nbrb -terminate (I think).
Question is - why stop backups from running but keep rest of NBU up?
