Need BMR Backup and Restoration Assistance

Hi all,

I took the backup of the virtual machine (win 2k3 x64).

I have taken the backup. Now I am not able to find where to find the option to restore it.

I am using Netbackup 6.5.4. The policy on which I have taken backup is not found in the Bare Metal Restore Clients.

Am I supposed to make any entries after taking the backup?

Kindly help.

1. On 6.5.4, (considering you have windows master server), need to setup BMR master server first. Please check start menu, netbackup option to run bmr master server setup. This creates BMR database and starts BMR master server daemon.

After this step you can see BMR client list node in admin GUI. But the list will be empty as no backup is yet done.

2. I hope you have enabled BMR option "Collect disater recovery information for.." in your backup policy. It is recommended that you have ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES as backup selection in your policy as BMR to restore FULL OS back.

3. Fire initial FULL backup using the policy.

4. Now considering BMR backup job done successfully in your NB task manager, BMR client list will show the cilent node. Here your client is BMR protected.

5. Now you need to prepare BMR SRT (shared resource tree) a restore critical software for your client OS.

6. Do prepare to restore operation and boot client for restore.

Please refer below video explaning dissimilar system restore using BMR.
