Need clarification

Hi All,

 

Befire migration the NBU software has installed under “E:\veritas\” , but currently the NBU installed under “E:\Program Files\VERITAS”, after migration setup is running fine. Here my concern  , If any DR required can we restore entire data or we can restore after migration data.

Check whether earlier backup catalog is present or not?

Migration in what sense? Did you perform full catalog recovery? If so, chances are your databases were restored to old path or not restored at all. Can you browse old backup images? Can you see that 'assign time' on media is correct (dates from before migration)? If NOT, your old, valid backup data WILL be overwritten.

These are basic NBU functions.

Browse for backups is done in Backup, Archive and Restore (BAR) section of the GUI.

Assign Time is a column in the Media section of the GUI.

Please tell us HOW migration was done?

Did you use the steps as per TN http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH77447 ?

Thanks for the information Mari,

Actually we dont have full information on migration, since migration activity has done by thirdparty.

I have checked the backups in BAR and i can able to see the old images.

What about Assign Time in Media section of the GUI?
