Hi All

I've added the following IDEA: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/idea/need-ssh-clusterconfig

I need everyone that's been battling with the RSH requirement to VOTE, please!

To try to help you NOW, though...

Have you tried editing the script to set RSH_CMD_NAME to "ssh" and RCP_CMD_NAME to "scp" and running it that way?  It seems pretty straightforward.

(I know why you WOULDN'T want to do that, and there's a whole "will we support it" argument, but if you're in a pinch...)

Thanks Chris. I haven't tried to edit cluster_config.

The 'nice' thing about NBU 7 is that it no longer needs cluster_config to be run separately - the installation process (install_bp) detects that the node is part of a cluster and proceeds to configure the cluster, and on the 2nd node, attempts to add the node to the existing cluster. The only time that one relializes that 'something' is wrong, is when 'permission denied' appears on the screen (no rsh configured, only ssh). (I know the NBU for HA guide spells out the need for RSH.)
